Hands
When given the shooting assignment, i tried to capture the beauty of a simply task we do every day... showering. I used the fog on the mirror to my advantage. It gave the photo the illusion of a shallow depth of feel. after I put the photo in black and white to reflect the theme of subtle beauty.
When I took this photo, I used the flash so that there would be a strong reflection on the falling water, and give it the illusion of being frozen in time. When editing, I increased the sharpness to give the water a stronger impact in the photo. I then put it in black and white to give it the same them as the first photo. This photo reminds of the shower scene in the Alfred Hitchock film 'Psycho'.
Catholic Cup
It was when I went behind the goals that I was able to get my best action shots. I like this one because it shows the game from the goalie's perspective. I would imagine that the most stressful position to play would be goals. He can make or break the game.
This photo shows the intensity of the game. Player 8 was in the process of leaping forward and it gave the photo the illusion that he is floating.
This photo shows the passion the crowd had for the game. It was taken the second we won the game, so there is motion blur from everyone springing out of their seats. The focus is on Alex Hossack's face. You can see the emence amount of excitement he has in that very moment.
Detailed Portrait
I found this man when I was downtown Toronto. I wish i could have shown his face because of the amazing smile he had. He was genuinely having an amazing time performing for everyone. I tried to capture the movement of the drum sticks and his hair in the wind. In editing, I corrected the white balance, increased the contrast, and lowered the shadows to intensify the photo.
